As a locally owned and operated independent hotel group, we strive to support and encourage local independent businesses like ourselves wherever possible. We are excited to introduce some new products and suppliers with this season’s new menu.
Our smallgoods and pork product this season are sourced from a newly established company here on the Sunshine Coast. With 55 years of experience in the making of smallgoods, Artie and David of SunValley Fine Foods use only free range pork sourced solely from a farm in Goondiwindi in Queensland’s Darling Downs region. This RSPCA approved farm operates in a stress free environment producing tender, full flavoured pork.
This season, Mooloolah River Fisheries bring us oysters sourced from three different locations around Australia. Pacific oysters will be supplied from the pristine waters of Coffin Bay, South Australia, as well as the shallow tidal waters of Pipe Clay Lagoon in Tasmania. Moreton Bay rock oysters are a smaller variety with a big flavour and are wild harvested from the waters around Moreton Bay National Park on the south east Queensland coast.
The Pasta Company is a family owned local business which provides us with freshly handmade ravioli and gnocchi using only the highest quality Australian ingredients with traditional Italian methods and recipes.
Our wine list continues to evolve and this season we have introduced a new moscato. This wine is produced by Holm Oak Vineyards, a five star rated winery in Northern Tasmania which was established in 1983. Holm Oak is one of the few smaller family owned wineries who grow, make and bottle
their own wines on site. The TBR Duffy Moscato is a refreshing wine with more complexity than you would expect from this varietal. The wine also has added spice flavours as a result of the extra skin contact.
We have also introduced a shiraz from one of our favourite wineries in the Barossa, Woods Crampton. This winery produces contemporary and balanced wines, a world away from the jammy fruit bombs of the past. The white label Barossa Valley shiraz is bright and expressive with spicy, dark
berry fruit flavours and fine tannins with a long finish. A high quality wine to be enjoyed with one of our premium steaks – go on, you deserve it and it is great drinking at this price!
